Samuel Worth Chapel

@ Cemetery Avenue, S11 8NT (opens in a new tab)

The Samuel Worth Chapel, a Grade II* listed former nonconformist chapel, has stood in the heart of Sheffield General Cemetery since the Victorian era. Brought back into use by the Sheffield General Cemetery Trust in 2016 after years of neglect, it now hosts music and arts events throughout the year. Expect everything from DJs, funk, soul, jazz and folk music to goth, metal, opera and classical – alongside film screenings, food nights and plenty in between. Run mainly by a team of volunteers, it’s a one-of-a-kind space with a striking interior, brilliant acoustics and an intimate atmosphere difficult to find anywhere else in the city.
